First Dance Mistakes
As a studio, we ask you to record a rehearsal of the first dance you'll perform on your wedding day and send it to us. That way we can understand your choreography, know where the key moves, lifts and dips are, and position ourselves accordingly during the first dance to give you the most beautiful photos within those limited three minutes.

We'd also like to mention a few common mistakes. To fill a dance floor built for 200 people dancing at once, our couples often position themselves very far apart during their first dance and zeybek choreography. When you stand that far apart, we're forced to use wide-angle lenses, and with wide-angle lenses you take up very little of the frame. Since dance instructors can't know the secrets of photography the way a photographer does, they spread you out widely to fill the stage. But this either prevents the bride and groom from appearing together in your film and photos, or, because those shots are taken with a wide-angle lens, you occupy only a tiny part of the scene. So when planning your choreography, try not to stand too far apart.

Another common mistake is talking too much during the first dance. Whatever letter you happen to be saying at that moment shows on your mouth in the photo. It makes sense to speak only when necessary and to think a little about the photos during your first dance.
