Hair Salon Delays and Their Consequences
Any delay at the hair salon, perhaps the very first step of your wedding day, will affect your entire day.
Think of it this way: a one-hour delay at the salon will make us an hour late to pick up the bride. A band that didn't plan for a bride pickup an hour later won't show up, and won't refund the deposit you paid because you were late. With the stress that builds up here, you'll start to lose the joy of the rest of the day.
By the time we move on to the garden shoot, a delay of an hour and a half, maybe two hours, caused by the salon and the bride pickup will greatly affect the number of shots we can take at the wedding venue, and their quality, since we'll have less time to spend on each one.
Think of the whole process like dominoes. A one-hour delay at the salon spills over into the bride pickup. A half-hour delay at the bride pickup carries over to the wedding venue. And because of that delay, unfortunately we can't complete all the shots we planned at the venue.
The wedding day you've cherished, where you've paid attention to every detail and planned every little thing, can be ruined by one extra hour spent at the hair salon.
Our professional experience has shown us that salon delays can stretch up to 3 hours. In such cases, the bride pickup may even be canceled altogether. However, the losses our couple suffers because of a canceled pickup, such as the band's fee or the extra pickup fee paid to the photographer, can't be charged back to the salon later.
That's why, as a studio, we recommend that you set up your agreement accordingly: find out your exact arrival and departure times, secure them in writing or in a contract if possible, and ask how many clients the salon will be serving that day.
Remember, it's a domino effect: a one-hour delay at the start of the day can turn into three hours by the end. Don't let a wedding day that should be filled with beautiful feelings be spent rushing around in chaos.
